Beyond Pencils: Nanaida Foundation Tackles Period Poverty and Educational Equity in Nwinsa
On October 12, 2023, the Nwinsa D/A School was transformed. While our mission often begins with pencils and notebooks, this trip revealed a deeper need. We met over 100 girls who were missing school monthly because they lacked menstrual hygiene resources. By raising $600, we were able to provide reusable pads to these girls, alongside uniforms, shoes, and library books for over 600 students. This wasn't just a donation; it was a movement toward keeping girls in school and ensuring every child, regardless of family income, can walk into their classroom with a sense of pride. This event proved that at Nanaida, we don’t just see students—we see their humanity.
